Is there a Winamp for Linux?
Winamp was never made available for Linux, but there may be many alternatives that will work on your Linux with similar features. The top-rated Linux alternative is Clementine, which can be either free or open source.

Is Linux Mint good for learning Linux?
Yes, Linux Mint is great for beginners, but if you have an older computer, consider Linux Lite. Linux Lite is much faster than Linux Mint, but not as fast as "Windows".
Coming back to Linux after your 15-year hiatus (previously xandros no longer exists unfortunately)Well, I'm trying to help you get my favorite MP3 player to interact with Mint. .rpm loaded (
), changed it to deb bundled with Alien and installed. It appears in the Installed Software Manager as. The problem is how can I make it work? Do you realize that it doesn't show up as a great app in the Apps menu?
Abandoning the above, I installed Winamp 5.531 via Wine and can confirm this in a while. Bits that don't work - full cursor to move in search, no display of elapsed time (always 00:00), no volume control before (worked with OS). Such a laminated thing, sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. Wine emulates Win7, I haven't tried it before the releases.
I'd really like to run Winamp natively so that any input is open. I've tried other MP3 players on Linux, they're just inferior, aren't they?

I'm just studying your post and the correct answer to it. Here is my idea.
This will help you learn more about the configuration of the kit. If you run "inxi -Fxzd" from a console terminal command line, highlight the results, copy and paste them, and put people back here, this should provide adequate information.
Make sure you have installed "ubuntu-restricted-extras" and "mpg123" in Software Manager or Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)

Is Linux Mint good for daily use?
I have always installed the distribution on my laptop, but hid Windows on my desktop. I removed the best windows partition and proceeded to install 19.2 overnight. The reason I chose Mint is because, in my experience, it's one of the best off-the-shelf distributions I've used.
You can also use many Winamp skins. The GTK interface has the most features.

Adding Winamp Skins
Adding Winamp skins to Audacious is very easy. Just place the skin file (.zip, .wsz, .tgz, .tar.gz or .tar.bz2 file) in the same way in ~/.local/share/audacious/Skins (only applies to your user) in addition to / usr/share/audacious/Skins (applies to each user), and after that, in the "Skinned Interface" tab in the settings, you can select the following. Another option is to drag and drop the face skin file directly into the list of available skins.
Click the image to view a larger version, or right-click to open it in a new tab.
Update: 05/03/2016: I just downloaded the Winamp skin from SG1, unzipped it and copied the product into the "Audacious" skin folder as root to test Audacious 3.7 and it worked.

^Great location. I can't wholeheartedly recommend Audacious - for me it was originally a Linux player that did a pretty good job of gapless playback.

As you can see from my previous article and links to it, as well as from other user responses, Audacious Version 3.7 is an excellent music player because Winamp can be easily used with Winamp interface skins, and it can also bring many benefits. trade more. You can also create your ownFree Winamp "skins" if you want to use your own images (I don't know how yet, but I know you and your family can do it).
